For a family-friendly stroll with excellent views of Windermere and the southern lakes, walk to Orrest Head. This simple route requires no prior hiking experience, as you'll follow just one well-marked trail. The entire journey takes 45-60 minutes on foot from nearby Windermere. Be wary of the paths near the top of the trail, which may be steep for those with physical limitations. If you prefer to return by a different route, take the footpaths back to the village from the top.
