Churchill War Rooms, London

Excellent museum exhibits. Removing two stars for the high price (29 pounds a person) and very rude treatment by the staff. We had been enjoying the Winston Churchill exhibits with many other people when staff showed up and rudely shooed us out of the room and told us we had only 30 minutes and had to pick up the pace. 30 minutes turned out to not even be enough time to listen to the audio guide for the remaining museum exhibits. In my experience museums typically budget some time after official closing for people in the middle of the museum to complete it. Not so here, we were constantly hounded to keep moving and followed closely through the one way tunnels. At very least the staff could have been polite to us instead of treating us as an inconvenience. Especially when the standard and already expensive admission includes a 10% donation by default. At the end of the museum is a gift shop as is typical. We were told that we had 2 minutes to get to the register or they would refuse to sell us anything after 6pm. This caused everyone to rush and created unnecessary chaos. On top of all that it wasn't even true the cashiers were extremely polite and accommodating and were taking purchases well after 6 I understand that staff want to go home but I expect better treatment especially for the price. Perhaps an earlier notice or at very least an apology for interjecting would have been appropriate

Not exactly hidden but not we’ll known, this little treasure is tucked away but right in the heart of Westminster. The bunker has been well preserved (unlike many others from the period) and well dressed to bring the history to life. It’s a tour suitable for all ages and the audio tour is worthwhile. If you’re heading to Westminster Abbey, Downing St, Houses of Parliament etc you should try and get this on to the agenda.
