National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham
Discover the underwater world at National SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham. Wander through over 60 displays showcasing more than 1,000 ocean and freshwater creatures, including hammerhead sharks, giant turtles, and otters. Touch crabs and starfish at the interactive rock pool, and attend feeding demonstrations for various aquarium inhabitants throughout the day. Join one of the walkthroughs or sit in on a talk to learn more about the fish and animals here, or check out a short film in the 4-D cinema. The site does not have a cafe, but you can find plenty of dining options in town. Have your hand stamped before exiting so that you can freely return any time before the aquarium closes.

Such an amazing experience. Lovely layout of the building as there is always something to look at. Along with the regular fish, rays, sharks etc there is also a jelly fish room, penguins, sea otters (the only ones on the UK) a giant sea turtle and a tunnel surrounded with water where part of the floor is also see through. There is also the sensory part of the experience which was quite busy but you got to feel a starfish and a mermaids pod. It's a lovely thing to do in Birmingham. The busiest part of the experience was the gift store which was quite small but full of people. We collected our medals for filling in an activity card at the tills of the gift shop. Great for adults and children. Highly recommended.

It's nice but quite small for the price. I've had an annual pass for the last 5 months or so as my daughter loves the penguins. We've probably been half a dozen times which makes it better value. Some of the exhibits are looking a bit tired and could do with some attention. The new addition of the seals is nice although you wonder if the tank is really big enough for the pair of them. Overall though, it's good fun and all the staff seem friendly and knowledgeable. Update: Seals have now been replaced by very cute sea otters!
