A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.

Get out of town with these interesting Turin side-trips: Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso (in Aosta), Reggia Di Reale (in Venaria Reale) and Forte di Bard (in Bard). There's lots more to do: get engrossed in the history at Museo Egizio, don't miss a visit to Piazza Castello, examine the collection at Civic Museum of Ancient Art (Palazzo Madama), and stroll around Parco del Valentino.
