Stresa is a town and comune of about 5,000 residents on the shores of Lake Maggiore in the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola in the Piedmont region of northern Italy, about 90km northwest of Milan. Start off your visit on the 5th (Mon): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Chiesa di San Vittore and then contemplate the long history of Sacred Mount Calvary of Domodossola. Keep things going the next day: make a trip to Piazza Motta, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Basilica di San Giulio, and then steep yourself in history at Parco della Rocca Borromea.
