Known for its idyllic location on the shores of Lake Como and at the foot of the Alps, Como is one of northern Italy's most popular tourist destinations.Venture out of the city with trips to Leolandia (in Capriate San Gervasio), Bergamo (Piazza Vecchia & La Citta Alta) and Tremezzina (Villa Carlotta & Villa del Balbianello). The adventure continues: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Cathedral of Como (Duomo), look for all kinds of wild species at I Falconieri del Feudo, stroll around Chilometro della Conoscenza, and see the interesting displays at Museo Nazionale del Cinema.

Lecco to Como is an approximately 1-hour car ride. You can also take a train; or take a bus. In August, plan for daily highs up to 33°C, and evening lows to 20°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 31st (Wed) early enough to go by car back home.
