Turin — 6 nights

City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Discover out-of-the-way places like Castel Savoia and Santuario Basilica di Montis Regalis. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Santuario di Oropa and Chiesa di Santa Maria del Monte dei Cappuccini. Get out of town with these interesting Turin side-trips: Castello di Serralunga d'Alba (in Serralunga d'Alba), Castello di Grinzane Cavour (in Grinzane Cavour) and Aosta (Criptoportico Forense, Collegiata dei Santi Pietro e Orso, &more). There's still lots to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica di Maria Ausiliatrice, appreciate the extensive heritage of Ricetto di Candelo, explore the historical opulence of Castello della Manta, and contemplate the long history of Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi.

For reviews, other places to visit, and more tourist information, refer to the Turin trip planner.

If you are flying in from Denmark, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In July, daily temperatures in Turin can reach 30°C, while at night they dip to 21°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 12th (Wed) early enough to travel back home.
