A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.

Get out of town with these interesting Turin side-trips: River Rafting & Tubing (in Morgex), Orta San Giulio (Piazza Motta & Lake Orta) and Reggia Di Reale (in Venaria Reale). There's much more to do: admire the masterpieces at Museo Egizio, look for all kinds of wild species at Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso, don't miss a visit to Piazza Vittorio Veneto, and pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica di Superga.
