Kartong — 2 nights

A multi-ethnic village community formed by several tribes, Kartung lies on the far-southern coast of the Atlantic Ocean and provides some of Gambia's most secluded and picturesque bays and beaches.
Start off your visit on the 19th (Sun): take in the exciting artwork at Lemonfish Art Gallery, then admire all the interesting features of The Reptile Farm, and then learn more about the world around you at Gunjur Village Museum. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 20th (Mon): see the interesting displays at Tanje Village Museum, hunt for treasures at Brikama Craft Market, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Sanyang Main Mosque.

Banjul, officially the City of Banjul and formerly known as Bathurst, is the capital of The Gambia and is in a division of the same name. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Banjul: Senegambia Craft Market (in Kololi), Fort James Island (in North Bank Division) and Makasutu Culture Forest (in Serekunda). The adventure continues: enjoy the sand and surf at Kotu Beach, tour the pleasant surroundings at Bijilo Forest Park, browse the eclectic array of goods at Albert Market, and don't miss a visit to Arch 22.
