A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.Escape the urban bustle at Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso and Cervino Breuil-Cervinia Ski Area. Get out of town with these interesting Turin side-trips: River Rafting & Tubing (in Morgex), Parco Naturale del Monte San Giorgio (in Piossasco) and Lake Orta (in Orta San Giulio). There's lots more to do: take an in-depth tour of Museo Egizio, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Duomo di Torino e Cappella della Sacra Sindone, make a trip to Piazza Castello, and examine the collection at Museo Nazionale del Cinema.
