Turin — 3 nights

City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Museum-lovers will appreciate Juventus Museum and Museo Pietro Micca e dell'assedio di Torino del 1706. Castello di Issogne and Castello di Verres are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Get out of town with these interesting Turin side-trips: Santuario Basilica di Montis Regalis (in Vicoforte), Castello di Grinzane Cavour (in Grinzane Cavour) and Castello Reale di Sarre (in Sarre). There's lots more to do: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Collegiata dei Santi Pietro e Orso, tour the pleasant surroundings at Rifugio Vittorio Sella, look for all kinds of wild species at Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso, and explore the ancient world of Criptoportico Forense.

If you are flying in from Greece, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. Expect a daytime high around 30°C in July, and nighttime lows around 21°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 22nd (Sat) early enough to travel back home.
