A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Start off your visit on the 1st (Tue): take in the spiritual surroundings of Chiesa di San Sebastiano, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Chiesa Parrocchiale San Vito, see the interesting displays at Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile, then examine the collection at Spazio La Stampa, and finally steep yourself in history at Circolo della Stampa – Sporting / Palazzo Ceriana Mayneri. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 2nd (Wed): explore the historical opulence of Castello del Valentino, then ponder the design of Fontana dei 12 Mesi, and then explore the historical opulence of La Castella.

Milan to Turin is an approximately 1.5-hour train ride. You can also drive; or take a bus. Traveling from Milan in October, expect nights in Turin to be about the same, around 12°C, while days are a bit cooler, around 17°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 2nd (Wed) early enough to drive to Barolo.

Barolo — 2 nights

Barolo is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Cuneo in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 50km southeast of Turin and about 40km northeast of Cuneo. Start off your visit on the 2nd (Wed): take in the exciting artwork at Purpleryta.

You can drive from Turin to Barolo in 1.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus; or do a combination of train and bus. In October, plan for daily highs up to 20°C, and evening lows to 9°C. On the 4th (Fri), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive back home.
