Barolo is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Cuneo in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 50km southeast of Turin and about 40km northeast of Cuneo. Start off your visit on the 4th (Sat): take in the architecture and atmosphere at Santuario reale votivo Madonna delle Grazie, then step into the grandiose world of Castello di Racconigi, then step into the grandiose world of Castello della Manta, and finally learn about winemaking at Cantina Francesco Borgogno. Keep things going the next day: examine the collection at Corkscrew Museum, examine the collection at WiMu - Museo del Vino a Barolo, do a tasting at Marchesi di Barolo - Sede legale, magazzini e spedizioni, then explore the historical opulence of Castello di Grinzane Cavour, and finally take in the exciting artwork at Purpleryta.

If you are flying in from Romania, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In March in Barolo, expect temperatures between 15°C during the day and 2°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 6th (Mon) to allow time to drive to Turin.
