Get some historical perspective at Basilica di Superga and La Venaria Reale. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Turin: Sacra di San Michele (in Sant'Ambrogio di Torino), Castello di Grinzane Cavour (in Grinzane Cavour) and Forte di Bard (in Bard).
