Turin — 2 nights

City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Reggia Di Reale and Museo Egizio are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Visit Basilica di Superga and Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi for their historical value. Venture out of the city with trips to Forte di Bard (in Bard) and Sacra di San Michele (in Sant'Ambrogio di Torino). And it doesn't end there: see the interesting displays at Museo Nazionale del Cinema, steep yourself in history at Duomo di Torino e Cappella della Sacra Sindone, explore the different monuments and memorials at Le Tombe Reali, and don't miss a visit to Piazza San Carlo.

If you are flying in from Switzerland, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In August in Turin, expect temperatures between 28°C during the day and 20°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 4th (Sun) to allow enough time to travel back home.
