Turin — 2 nights

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Reggia Di Reale and Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Visit Basilica di Superga and Duomo di Torino e Cappella della Sacra Sindone for their historical value. Venture out of the city with trips to Sacra di San Michele (in Sant'Ambrogio di Torino), Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi (in Stupinigi) and Forte di Bard (in Bard). There's lots more to do: explore the world behind art at Museo Egizio, explore the different monuments and memorials at Le Tombe Reali, examine the collection at Museo Nazionale del Cinema, and admire the striking features of Palazzo Reale Di Torino.

To find other places to visit, reviews, maps, and other tourist information, use the Turin road trip planning site.

If you are flying in from Switzerland, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. In August, daytime highs in Turin are 28°C, while nighttime lows are 20°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 4th (Sun) so you can travel back home.
