A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.

Step out of Turin with an excursion to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan--about 1h 30 min away. There's still lots to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica di Superga, take in nature's colorful creations at Parco del Valentino, take in the spiritual surroundings of Duomo di Torino e Cappella della Sacra Sindone, and admire the striking features of Palazzo Reale Di Torino.
