City of a Thousand Trades

Britain's second-largest city, Birmingham was known as the City of a Thousand Trades and the Workshop of the World in the Victorian era.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Birmingham: Alton Towers Resort (in Alton), Warwick Castle (in Warwick) and Shakespeare's Birthplace (in Stratford-upon-Avon). There's much more to do: brush up on your knowledge of spirits at Cotswolds Distillery, have some family-friendly fun at Cotswold Archery, make a trip to The Moreton Gallery, and explore the activities along Edgbaston Reservoir.

For reviews, traveler tips, photos, and more tourist information, read our Birmingham vacation app.

Expect a daytime high around 8°C in February, and nighttime lows around 1°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Fri) to allow enough time to travel back home.
