A beautiful and romantic city fit for any itinerary, Paris brims with historic associations and remains vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design.
Your day by day itinerary now includes Seine River, Grand Canal and Palace of Versailles. Kids will appreciate attractions like Eiffel Tower and Le Marais. Strasbourg is famous for its beautiful historical center, the Grande Île, which was the first city center classified entirely as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Strasbourg is one of the nine largest cities in France with nearly half a million inhabitants in the metropolitan area crossing the river to the German city of Kehl, on the eastern bank of the Rhine River.
Family-friendly places like Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg and La Montagne des Singes will thrill your kids. Change things up with these side-trips from Strasbourg: Riquewihr (Feerie de Noel & Vieille Ville), Vieille ville d'Eguisheim (in Eguisheim) and La Porte de France (in Turckheim). There's still lots to do: wander the streets of La Petite France, get to know the fascinating history of Centre-ville de Strasbourg, and make a trip to Barrage Vauban.

The financial hub of Switzerland, Zurich is most often associated with money and banks.
Kids will enjoy Lake Lucerne and Bahnhofstrasse. Explore Zurich's surroundings by going to Mt Pilatus (in Kriens) and Lucerne (Altstadt Luzern, Lucerne Station, &more). There's more to do: visit Old Town and contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Zurich.

You can drive from Strasbourg to Zurich in 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a train; or take a bus. In December in Zurich, expect temperatures between 41°F during the day and 30°F at night. Cap off your sightseeing on the 15th (Thu) early enough to catch the flight to Venice.

Getting from Zurich to Venice by flight takes about 4.5 hours. Other options: drive; or take a train. When traveling from Zurich in December, plan for somewhat warmer days in Venice, with highs around 49°F, while nights are about the same with lows around 34°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 18th (Sun) to allow time to fly to Rome.
