Rome — 17 nights

Eternal City
Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.Head to Via Condotti and La Bottega degli Orsinifor plenty of shopping. Escape the urban bustle at Catacombs of Saint Callixtus and Grotte di Falvaterra. Venture out of the city with trips to Chiesa di Sant'Andrea (in Viterbo), Collegiata di Santa Maria Assunta (in Amaseno) and Faggeta del Monte Cimino (in Soriano nel Cimino). The adventure continues: wander the streets of Trastevere, delve into the distant past at Pantheon, don't miss a visit to Piazza Navona, and steep yourself in history at Palatine Hill.
