In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.
Venture out of the city with trips to Verona (Arche Scaligere, Torre dei Lamberti, &more). Next up on the itinerary: take in the architecture and atmosphere at Duomo di Milano, admire the striking features of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, listen to music at La Casa Maledetta, and explore the world behind art at Pinacoteca Ambrosiana.

Once the most important harbor in the Mediterranean Sea, Genoa has a long history as a rich and powerful trade center in northern Italy.
Start off your visit on the 3rd (Wed): appreciate the extensive heritage of Passeggiata Anita Garibaldi a Nervi, then enjoy the sand and surf at Baia del Silenzio, and then take in panoramic vistas at Spianata Castelletto. Novara is the capital city of the province of Novara in the Piedmont region in northwest Italy, to the west of Milan. Start off your visit on the 5th (Fri): get to know the resident critters at Safari Park and then explore the activities along San Giulio Island. On the next day, find something for the whole family at Ondaland, examine the collection at Museo di Storia Naturale Faraggiana Ferrandi, then pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica di San Gaudenzio, and finally view the masterpieces at Legart.
