Turin — 14 nights

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
Take a break from the city and head to Parco Nazionale Gran Paradiso and Cave Bossea. Deepen your sense of the past at sights like Sacro Monte di Orta and Castello di Issogne. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Turin: Museo Forte Bramafam (in Bardonecchia), Forte Di Exilles (in Exilles) and Giardini del Belvedere (in Mondovi). There's lots more to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica di Maria Ausiliatrice, make a trip to Parco della Rocca Borromea, explore the ancient world of Porta Praetoria, and get to know the fascinating history of Aosta Old Town.

For reviews, other places to visit, maps, and other tourist information, refer to the Turin sightseeing planning tool.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. August in Turin sees daily highs of 76°F and lows of 64°F at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 27th (Sun) so you can travel back home.
