You can take a train from Rome to Florence in 2.5 hours. Other options are to fly; or drive. Expect a daytime high around 25°C in October, and nighttime lows around 14°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 31st (Sun) to allow time to take a train to Milan.

In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.

While traveling from Florence, expect slightly colder days and about the same nights in Milan, ranging from highs of 21°C to lows of 13°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 5th (Fri) to allow enough time to fly back home.
