The 2013 European "Capital of Culture," Marseille is the largest port city on the breezy Mediterranean coast and the second largest city in France.
On the 22nd (Thu), don't miss a visit to Parc National des Calanques. On your second day here, wander the streets of The Panier, take a leisurely stroll along Le Vieux Port, take in the spiritual surroundings of Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde, then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Abbaye Saint Victor, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Cathédrale La Major.
