Turin — 13 nights

City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
For shopping fun, head to Via Roma or FOL Gourmet Popcorn. Visiting Colle del Nivolet and Colle del Piccolo San Bernardo will get you outdoors. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Turin: Cantine Costa Giuseppe (in Monta), Langhe landscapes (in Alba) and Cogne (Rifugio Vittorio Sella & Sentieri della Valnontey). Spend the 25th (Wed) exploring nature at Parco Regionale del Mont Avic. There's lots more to do: stop by Quadrilatero Romano, explore the historical opulence of Castello di Issogne, do a tasting at Cantina Fontechiara, and take in the dramatic scenery at Cascate del Rutor.

For more things to do, where to stay, other places to visit, and other tourist information, use the Turin travel route planning app.

If you are flying in from South Africa, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. September in Turin sees daily highs of 24°C and lows of 17°C at night. You will have some time to spend on the 2nd (Wed) before leaving for home.
