Turin — 13 nights

City of Magic

A city of technology and industry, Turin is in northwestern Italy, a one-hour drive from the French border and slightly more than that from the Mediterranean Sea.
For shopping fun, head to Via Roma or FOL Gourmet Popcorn. Visiting Colle del Nivolet and Cascate del Rutor will get you outdoors. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Turin: Cogne (Rifugio Vittorio Sella & Sentieri della Valnontey), Langhe landscapes (in Alba) and Colle del Piccolo San Bernardo (in La Thuile). Spend the 25th (Wed) exploring nature at Parco Regionale del Mont Avic. The adventure continues: don't miss a visit to Chiesa di Santa Maria del Monte dei Cappuccini, take in the spiritual surroundings of Duomo di Torino e Cappella della Sacra Sindone, explore the activities along Lago d'Arpy, and examine the collection at Museo Nazionale del Cinema.

For more things to do, maps, other places to visit, and other tourist information, refer to the Turin trip planner.

If you are flying in from South Africa, the closest major aiports are Malpensa International Airport, Turin Airport and Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport. Expect a daytime high around 24°C in September, and nighttime lows around 17°C. On the 2nd (Wed), you'll have the morning to explore before heading back home.
