Naples is the capital of the Italian region Campania and the third-largest municipality in Italy after Rome and Milan. Change things up with these side-trips from Naples: Lupanar (in Pompeii) and Salerno (Promenade Trieste, Centro Storico Salerno, &more). A lovely town easily accessible from almost anywhere in the country, Sorrento overlooks the Bay of Naples and sits right on the Amalfi Drive.
Start off your visit on the 23rd (Thu): indulge in some culinary diversions at a local gastronomic tour. Here are some ideas for day two: don't miss a visit to Piazza Tasso, learn about winemaking at Limonoro, then kick back and relax at Spiaggia Grande, then look for gifts at Valenti, and finally take in the architecture and atmosphere at Chiesa di Santa Croce.
