Colmar — 13 nights

Little Venice

Situated along the Alsatian Wine Route, Colmar is renowned for its German and French culture, well-preserved old town, numerous architectural landmarks, and its museums.
Step off the beaten path and head to Grand Rue De Colmar and Salle du Corps de Garde. Change things up with these side-trips from Colmar: Gerardmer (Gerardmer Ski & Observatoire de Merelle), Route des Cretes (in La Bresse) and Musee des Eaux de Vie (in Lapoutroie). There's lots more to do: wander the streets of Little Venice, pause for some serene contemplation at Eglise Sainte-Foy, contemplate the long history of Maison Schongauer, and make a trip to Dolder Tower.

For photos, other places to visit, maps, and other tourist information, read our Colmar sightseeing planner.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Strasbourg Airport, Metz-Nancy-Lorraine Airport and Dole-Tavaux Airport. In December, plan for daily highs up to 46°F, and evening lows to 34°F. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 2nd (Sat) so you can travel back home.
