In many ways the most modern of Italian cities, Milan is a busy, elegant metropolis with an impressive list of grand palaces, fine churches, and important museums.
Get out of town with these interesting Milan side-trips: Verona (Museo di Castelvecchio, Basilica di San Zeno Maggiore, &more). Valletta, Malta to Milan is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also do a combination of bus and train; or take a bus. Prepare for a bit cooler weather when traveling from Valletta in February: high temperatures in Milan hover around 10°C and lows are around 1°C. Kick off your visit on the 17th (Fri): hike along Colle Del Sommelier, head outdoors with Scuola Sci & Snowboard Liberi Tutti, and then make a trip to Galleria Dei Saraceni.

Known for its idyllic location on the shores of Lake Como and at the foot of the Alps, Como is one of northern Italy's most popular tourist destinations.
Venture out of the city with trips to Monumento Naturale Regionale del Sasso di Preguda (in Valmadrera) and Tremezzina (Villa Carlotta & Villa del Balbianello).
