Create an itinerary including Catedral de Sevilla
One of the largest Gothic churches in the world, Catedral de Sevilla is the final resting place of Christopher Columbus and a World Heritage Site. The awe-inspiring cathedral is 126 m (413 ft) long and 83 m (272 ft) wide, built on the site of a former mosque. The mosque’s minaret, now serving as a converted bell tower, still stands right next to the cathedral. Climb up this emblematic tower for sweeping views of Seville, or tour the interior to see the longest nave of any cathedral in the country. Inside the main body of the cathedral, the most noticeable features are the choir lofts and the carved scenes from the life of Christ. A single craftsman, Pierre Dancart, spent his entire life completing the work on the richly detailed altarpiece, considered one of the finest in the world. • When I stepped into the cathedral I gasped; the scale and magnitude is astonishing, just as much as the beautiful exterior.

  • One of the best, massive cathedrals I have visited. Views from the Bell Tower are great. The architecture inside and outside the cathedral are stunning.

  • Absolutely stunning. A must do when in Seville. Every corner reveals another amazing beautiful area. Gothic designs and lavish black and gold intricate carvings. Christopher Columbus's tomb stands in prime position within a spectacular structure. Bell Tower is worth visiting for views. Lovely peaceful atmosphere with plenty of seating to relax, prayer and take in the awe inspiring surroundings. Many side doors leading to different rooms which can be easily missed.
  • Spent a wonderful five nights in Seville in October. Stunning weather 😎 with temperatures hitting 30C. We stayed at the ‘modern’ Hotel Rey Alfonso X within the historic city centre and simply walked every day. Photos simply don’t do the Cathedral justice it is magnificent. NB Ensure you book a ‘jump the queue’ tour to get most from your visit. NB Climb the tower 34 ramps plus 15 steps awesome views.
