Pay your respects to some of Bratislava's liberators at Slavin War Memorial, a memorial monument and burial ground dedicated to the Soviet Army soldiers killed during the liberation of Slovakia's capital in World War II. Opened in 1960, the cemetery has six mass graves and 278 individual graves. The Stalinist-style memorial dominates the surrounding park with its 39.5 m (130 ft) obelisk topped by an 11 m (36 ft) sculpture of a Soviet soldier waving a flag. The central hall with various statues houses a symbolic sarcophagus made of white marble. Read the dates of the liberation of different places in Slovakia from the inscriptions on the outside walls. Slavin War Memorial reviews
Medicore view. You may visit if there is not much else to see. Climbing all the way up is doable but tiring. It's better to ride a bus.

This memorial, thought a bit of a walk to get to, is definitely worth visiting. There are a series of individual graves as well as a few mass graves and overall the memorial is very moving and well...

Would definitely recommend adding this to your Bratislava list. It’s about a 5 minute drive or 30 minute walk from the castle. Was not too busy or crowded. Open park area to walk through to get to the statue. Then there is a nice elevated view of the city.
Slavin is a historical monument dedicated for the lives that were lost during the world war 2. To commemorate, this beautiful structure was dedicated to them. It is very beautifully designed and it needs few minutes of hike to reach the monument. It's free and doesn't not have any entrance fee. There are two ways enter, one side has steps and other side has a gentle gradient.
