Create an itinerary including Michalska Brana
Topped with the statue of St. Michael slaying the dragon, Michalska Brana represents the oldest preserved part of the city's medieval fortifications. Built around 1300, the gate acquired its present appearance during an 18th-century reconstruction. Follow the marked historical crown path through the gate and notice a disk with a compass pointing in the directions of the world's major cities. The bridge on the other side of the passage arches over the last remaining section of a medieval moat. Visit the clock tower to see the exhibition of weapons there and climb to the sixth-floor balcony for vistas of the old town, castle, and surrounding landscapes. • The meaning of this gate is so simple but still amazing, the center of the city, maybe you wouldn't expect to find this just walking randomly. Nothing to do, just take the picture.
  • Part of the old town of Bratislava. This is a maze of passages and cobbled streets lined with historic buildings, many of which are shops, bars, restaurants or hotels. This place can be very atmospheric, even gothic, in the evening, especially in the winter when there are few tourists.
