A little disappointing. Nice enough interior wall paintings and mosaics but not on the same level as the Nativity of Christ Cathedral a few minutes walk away. It is, nonetheless, a respectful place...

The former Republican Museum of Scientific Atheism was located in the building of former Girls Gymnasium Chapel, designed by Alexandru Bernardazzi and built in 1895. The Museum opened to the public in 1985 and exhibited documents, books, photographs, objects of religious cult, archaeological and ethnographic items, graphic and folk art pieces. The aim of the exhibitions was to combat religion by the means of so called "scientific atheism", a concept that appeared for the first time in the writings of K. Marx and F. Engels. As a part of the anti-religious propaganda campaign, texts by Cantemir and Eminescu were included.
