Create an itinerary including Reggia Di Reale
Explore Reggia Di Reale, a 17th-century palace built for Charles Emmanuel II as a base for his hunting expeditions. History had taken its toll here; the structure only opened to the public in 2007 after one of the European Union's largest cultural restoration projects. Wander through the palace's permanent exhibit, Theater of History and Magnificence, which takes you through some of the most impressive rooms. Begin in the 17th-century Hall of Diana, continue through to the Great Gallery, and then move on to the Church of St. Hubert. The accompanying soundtrack by Brian Eno and the multimedia installations on court life make this an informative and atmospheric walk. Stretch your legs in the palace's 50 hectares (123.5 acres) of gardens. You'll find cafes, restaurants and a bookshop on site. Make Reggia Di Reale part of your personalized Venaria Reale itinerary using our Venaria Reale trip planner.

  • What a spectacular complex. I would not very well known outside Piemonte. The gardens a parklands are huge , apparently the largest Royal Park in Europe ?

  • It's pleasant enough, but I'd only come here if you've seen everything Turin has to offer or you have an intensely all-consuming interest in the Savoy family history. There's nothing particularly...

  • It was so beautiful building. Garden was fantastic, too. I paid full ticket which was 20€. Worth to pay for sure. There is a restaurant in the garden but menu is limited. Not only castle but looking around small town around castle is good too. Many cozy cafe and restaurants are there.
  • Exuberant royal palace and gardens a lot of historical stuff if you like that sort of thing the express bus at €7 return from Turin was great value entrance €20 was good by UK prices. The gardens were stunning. Half a day minimum time required to do this justification.
