Villa di Pollio Felice - Bagni della Regina Giovanna
Search out the little-known beautiful swimming hole at Villa di Pollio Felice - Bagni della Regina Giovanna, a natural pool of clear water hidden next to the ancient ruins of a Roman villa. The pool's location is a little difficult to find, but ask the locals for directions and watch for a narrow cobblestone sidewalk. The path leads you to the site, where a hole in the rocks lets the sea fill the pool with turquoise water. Swimming here is allowed and encouraged; on a hot day the cold water feels particularly refreshing. Extend your visit by renting a boat at Sorrento and touring the area. You can even go fishing and keep the day's catch for lunch. Make Villa di Pollio Felice - Bagni della Regina Giovanna part of your personalized Sorrento itinerary using our Sorrento online trip itinerary planner.

Beautiful, small and quiet spot for swimming (it was Jan!) so no-one else in there at all, just a few on-lookers who thought we were mad :-) I can imagine that in the summer it is would be much...

Amazing secluded swimming spot and ruins. Crystal clear waters! Parking is available at the top of the hill just off the main road, it's very cheap compared to most parking, if you have a moped you...

Excellent day trip. Not for the timid. Swim shoes recommended. Many sharp rocks. Very beautiful water, rock formations, Roman ruins. Perfect for snorkeling. Nice trails for hiking. Warm water. Incredible scenery and views. No facilities. Walk with care. Not suitable for children. Highly recommended. Access by bus, taxi, or 35 minutes walk from downtown Sorrento.

Quite long hike from Sorrento, but definitely worth the effort. Very beautiful place with interesting history. Recommended wearing good shoes as it is rocky and slippery. You can take a bath after going down the stairs, but there’s not much place to sit and hang around out there. Swim under the arch and you can see an emerald green water sparking in the sun, very beautiful!
