  • RIP .. For us Greeks it is immortal.
  • The statue, inserted in the homonymous square, was inaugurated in 1869, six years after its conception. Worked in Ferrara and more than six meters high, it is dedicated to the citizen who joined the Carbonari movements. Santorre di Santa Rosa (1783-1825) was mayor of this city, then he became sub-prefect of La Spezia and ministries of war and navy in the Piedmontese constitutional government. He lived the last years of his life in exile: Switzerland, France and, finally, Great Britain.
