Home to many events of the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics, Via Lattea straddles the French-Italian border and spans five distinct resorts. Take your choice of 88 lifts to ski the 400 km (250 mi) of trails. You will find areas for all levels, though each resort has a different selection. Claviere is most suited to the intermediate skier, while Sestriere has some longer black runs and provides more options for the advanced. Montgenèvre is probably the best for beginners, though you can check out the resorts online to find which suits you best. Take the free buses that connect the resorts: often the lift connections are slower. For Via Lattea and beyond, use our Sauze d'Oulx road trip planner to get the most from your Sauze d'Oulx vacation.

Good place to ski and have fun! Davide, the employee that stays in Borgata, was so kind helping us understand the difference between tickets and advice which one would be better for us. Special thank for him!

In the midst of December station was basically closed - only two longer slopes were open in Sestriere and information on official site were inaccurate. One week before christmas they opened new routes - still but a small part of entire station with no connection with Oulx or Montgenevre. Mind you that it is not matter of snow or difficult situation with energy in Europe given that other resorts are working in normal fashion. I have no idea how could anyone consider treating guests like that as fair, but this is really unacceptable.
