Nearly 2,000 years old, Pantheon is the only building from the Greco-Roman world that has remained substantially intact and in continuous use throughout its long history. A marvel of ancient architecture, it still boasts the world's largest unreinforced concrete dome. Originally designed to be a temple to all the gods of the ancient Rome, the site has been used as a Roman Catholic church, dedicated to St. Mary, since the seventh century. The building features large, granite Corinthian columns. Don't skip this site if it's raining; seeing and hearing the rain pouring into this ancient building through the hole in the ceiling is a special experience. This sight was about 4 mins walk from our hotel. Suggest you arrive by opening time to get in and enjoy. It’s free and amazing.

I just can't get enough of that amazing art work, every time I go back to Rome. This building is nearly 2,000 years old, and still looks like the day it was constructed! An absolutely masterpiece!

A marvel of historical architecture. So much of Ancient Rome preserved at this one site. The surrounding area is really good too - nice restaurants and cafes. Good vibe. Although entry is free, you’ll easily miss all the secrets unless you book a tour guide.

A beautiful place with classical architecture. I recommend you see it with your own eyes. You must have a reservation on weekends, but during the week there is no problem with getting in. It is worth taking a look inside because there is something to see there. Everything is in perfect condition, beautiful sculptures and paintings. The perfect place to start exploring Rome.
