Named for the founder of the Roman Empire and its first emperor, Forum of Augustus stands as an example of imperial forum architecture in the heart of the former empire. Construction of the forum, built to honor Mars and to carry out legal proceedings, began around 20 BCE. The millennia-old building remains today as ruins, including several well-preserved columns. With little information posted to explain the significance of the building, make sure to do your research or hire a tour guide to gain the full sightseeing experience. Unbelievable architecture! Just found out it was built in 2 b.c. year, or in 5509 year. This is amazing, a true beauty. Impressed how humans could build such enormous buildings so many years ago. Best photos: during the day and at night (check my images). Plan your sightseeing so that you will start from the Forum, then Colosseum, Palatine Hill and closing with Capitoline Hill. 💛

The italians have done a wonderful job of preserving their cultural heritage sites, and this is a wonderful example of a well restored and preserved site which everyone can admire, even when simply driving on the Via dei Fori Imperiali. Of course, the Fori Imperiali (Roman Forum) just accross the street as well as the nearby Palatine Hill and Collosseum are must-see, do take the time to swing by the Forum of Augustus for a quick look. It's also beautifully illuminated at night!
