  • Utterly dismal. A sad collection of dead or dying plants. I understand that water is short but that shouldn’t excuse letting the entire collection die due to lack of water. And it would have been...

  • Was a nice experience especially once under the shade of the incredible trees of different shapes and sizes (though it is forbidden to stay underneath them for some reason - written on plaques around the garden). Wasn't too impressed for one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. Quite a few plants were skimpy and some weren't there at all. But for €4 it's something cool to do once in the city and you get to see some centuries old trees (230+ years old).
  • It's lovely. And free on the first Sunday of every month! I especially recommend it then. The gardens have plants from almost every biome and are well kept. I think the gardens make the most sense in terms of teaching gardens, they are ordered systematically and in greenhouses for specific plant types. The museum is really informative and has many "firsts" collected if you're interested in Botany. Museum information cards are in Italian and English although there is some German mixed in occasionally as well. Fun for all ages.
