It is an austere 13th century Franciscan church, well preserved and characterized by a sparse and essential architecture with a beautiful wooden trussed ceiling. It contains remains of cycles of frescoes of the life of St. Francis made by Sienese artists of the Signorelli school. Definitely worth a visit as part of an excursion in the characteristic historic center of Pienza.
