Create an itinerary including Ponte Coperto
Since Roman times, a bridge has stood over the Ticino river at this spot--Ponte Coperto itself was built in 1949 when Allied bombing destroyed the previous one, dating from 1354. Today, the covered brick and stone arch bridge is a great place to take in the sights of Pavia away from the crowds. A chapel stands on the bridge, just as it has since medieval times. • Nice bridge to sit and take some good photos. Pavia itself its a nice small town. Definetely Worth a quick visit if you are in Milan.

  • The Ponte Coperto today is a reconstruction of the original which was destroyed during WWII. It's quite impressive. Don't miss it when you visit Pavia.

  • A good old project still intact. Nice to have this monumental place for Pavia
  • Ponte coperto is really beautiful bridge. You should go there and I recommend to take the stairs and walk along the river: many young people go there sunbathing or cycling
