  • Very beautiful roman church
  • Romanesque church of national interest. The church of Santi Nazario e Celso stands isolated 2 km from Montechiaro, on the slopes of Bric San Nazario, in Castel Mairano. The building is surrounded, with the exception of the façade, by tall trees from which only the top of the bell tower emerges, leaning against the north-west corner of the Church. The plant has a rectangular hall with an apse reconstructed in the nineteenth century according to a process of anastylosis. The interior has a barrel vault in the same period as the apse. The medieval church has significant elements of the Romanesque style of Asti such as the arched and double-arched arch, the decoration and the wolf's teeth, the frame of the bell tower with hanging small arches on sandstone corbels, the saw-toothed band and the decoration chess. The monofore on the south side with floral decorations is also very interesting.
