Experience the atmosphere of I Navigli, a bustling city quarter known for its vibrant nightlife and an abundance of restaurants, cafes, and shops. Once the hub of the city’s commercial life because of its network of canals, this picturesque district now draws tourists with its open-late eateries, trendy bars, and fashion boutiques. This part of the city is named after its most important monument, a Romanesque-Gothic church dedicated to San Cristoforo sul Naviglio. Some locations in this area can get a little noisy and overcrowded, but the real plus here is the chance to try some of the finest dishes the city has to offer, at a fraction of the price charged by the restaurants and cafes closer to the city center. Bring your appetite and a fully charged camera.  To visit I Navigli on your holiday in Milan, and find out what else Milan has to offer, use our Milan.

  • Lovely part of the city. Good places to eat and some great market stalls. It does get very crowded in the evenings. There's a fantastic ice cream shop.

  • Nice place for a stroll, with lots of restaurants and bars. It's a much different feel than much of Milan, so makes a nice change. It's only a few minutes from the Porta Genova metro stop, so it's...

  • We visited this place at night. It looked beautiful: lights, lovely and even dancing people. You can take a walk here, take a seat next to the river and just chill. Also, there are a lot of bars and restaurants.
  • If you are in the mood to bar hop, this is the place to visit. It's one of Milans few old canals, of which there are dozens of bars and restaurants. Fun to walk around, metro and trams close by.
