Hidden just steps away from the massive crowds flocking to the Duomo, Chiesa di San Bernardino alle Ossa boasts an impressive bone chapel. The side chapel, adjacent to the church, was built in 1210 to house the bones of individuals when the next-door cemetery ran out of space. The main church was added later, in 1269, and a larger church was erected from its remains after a devastating fire in the 18th century. Now, curious visitors can explore this church and its famous ossuary chapel, much of which is decorated in the Rococo style. Interesting place to visit. It was the only church/sanctuary I visited during Milan and this was great choice

It’s a different atmosphere inside thanks to skulls on the walls. It has free enterance. It was quite in the morning and as it is a small place it’s better to check in the morning
