Caves of Pastena, Falvaterra

Entrance is only possible with a tour - you can find the list of times on their website. Calling to book in advanced is recommended on the site, but we didn’t and they don’t seem to limit the numbers. Tours are only in Italian and our guide had such a strong accent that he was very hard to follow, but the caves are nice anyway and a great way to escape the heat for a little while. The guide originally told us we weren’t allowed to take any photos, then changed his mind half way through and said we could without flash, so it’s worth clarifying what ‘no photos’ means.

The caves are awesome, I really appreciated our guide, Oreste. I finely understood why we need guides) at the sights. The trip was very interesting and we were lucky enough to come when the bats were not there and the water in the watefall was clear and clean. I loved the excursion and obviously the caves. It is very useful to see how great nature is.
