Create an itinerary including Lago di Dobbiaco
Take a serene hike around placid Lago di Dobbiaco, which lies at the base of piney hills. A result of a landslide that blocked the Rienza River, this clear alpine lake is known for its abundance of fish--you can purchase a license on site. Paddleboat rides and guided tours are also available--both are great ways to see the swans and other wildlife that call this lake home. A snack bar at the water's edge offers refreshments and a place to relax, and a campground invites visitors to stay the night. Continue along the lakeside path to find a carefully maintained World War I soldiers' cemetery. • It is a beautiful small lake that one can finish walking in an hour. The path is flat and easy to walk. Water is very clear. We walked only half way - the way towards the mountains and the view...

  • A very nice lake that is mostly visited by locals and the tourist traffic is very low, which is what was fun for us. The lake is clear surrounded by mountains and the view is of course beautiful. You can rent a boat and sail on the lake, fish and hike around. There is a great nature reserve for a short hike with a flowing stream that feeds the lake. There is paid parking. Highly recommended
  • In summer the lake is great for cooling off on hot days: boating or a nature trail, with 11 stations, which provides a wonderful insight into the fauna and flora of this area, and children (and adults) can jump about with wild animals. The nature trail is only 2.5 km long and is accessible for pushchairs. If you prefer a longer hike, that starts right from his hotel near the Lake of Dobbiaco, and even from the centre to the lake, it is only an hour's walk.
