Lago di Loie, Cogne

A very nice day hike for the summer or fall. Going up from Lillaz is a steep but manageable hike that offers great views down Val di Cogne to Monte Bianco. Be on the watch for wildlife in the wooded part of the hike. Once you reach the lake, complete the circuit by returning to Lillaz via Bardoney. This longer, gently-descending return leg is very remote and runs along some nice pools and waterfalls. The trail is well-marked and maintained and has excellent signage at all junctions.
