Bologna Cooking Class, Bologna

Luigi’s market visit and cooking class offering was exactly what I was looking for. He combined some morning touring and shopping around Central Bologna for a couple of hours with a great session in his apartment kitchen. He gladly accommodated our request for some sampling of the local charcuterie and cheeses into the lunch menu we were to prepare. He shared some really nice recipes as well as some professional cooking techniques, which resulted in a very filling and tasty afternoon meal. He was very personable and easy to understand. There are many options to choose from in Bologna for tours and cooking classes. The morning and afternoon spent with Luigi learning about Bologna, its food, and how to prepare some of the local cuisine was well worth the time and the cost. It was a very enjoyable experience.

This was hands down one of the coolest experiences we had in Italy. We did the long class which included a short tour of some of the sites in Bologna, a trip to the market to purchase fresh ingredients for our class, a stop at his favorite cafe for pastry and cappuccino and then on to his studio for our class. The class itself was amazing, from start to finish, Luigi guided us through the process and it wasn’t intimidating at all. He provided little tips and tricks along the way that we will keep with us forever. If you have a chance, I highly recommend this class. The value is more than worth the cost of the class.
