  • Totally amazing! Can't put into words the beauty and the history of the church. It is a not miss if you are anywhere in the area!
  • In Bastia, just outside Mondovì, there is the "Sistine Chapel of Piedmont", which in my opinion is the most beautiful frescoed church in medieval times I have ever seen! The church of San Fiorenzo, built on the tomb of the saint in the early 1200s, is located in Bastia Mondovì in the province of Cuneo; before the year 1000 it was a small chapel, but in the course of the 14th-15th centuries it was enlarged, improved and in 1472 its interior was frescoed, commissioned by Bonifacio della Torre, the frescoes of the church dedicated to San Fiorenzo cover everything the interior, for a total of about 326 m2, hosting the largest and best-known pictorial cycle in the whole of Monregalese. A true jewel of art with one of the most beautiful and well-preserved pictorial cycles in the world. According to the hypothesis of the critic Geronimo Raineri, Antonio da Monteregale may have contributed to fresco part of the altar wall in collaboration with other painters. The church is so beautiful that you cannot fail to come and visit it .... A special mention to Giulio, who gave us a passionate guide through all the magnificent paintings ... Guided tours: EVERY SUNDAY FROM APRIL TO OCTOBER FROM 15:00 to 18:00
